Senior Associate
Julie has been in the public relations/public affairs industry for more than 20 years. A Senior Associate with BBPR, Inc. for ten years, Julie is responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of government, media and community outreach, as well as advertising and promotional activities for the Household Hazardous Waste Roundup Advertising Program for the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts.
She also is responsible for media relations management and implementation for the Ventura County Community Foundation as well as media relations, community relations and local store marketing for Domino’s Pizza, Los Angeles DMA.
Prior to joining BBPR, Inc. in 1998, Julie was scheduling director for Los Angeles Mayor Richard J. Riordan for two years. As the scheduling director, she scheduled external and internal events and meetings for the Mayor and working with his senior staff, coordinated all of his activities.
Before working with the Mayor’s office, Julie served as a senior account executive at Stoorza, Ziegaus and Metzger for three years, where she managed accounts such as Richland Development Company, The Pacific Pipeline, Westridge Development and the Sacramento City and County Mobilehome Park Owner’s Association.
For all of these accounts Julie was responsible for the day-to-day management of client timelines, community relations, government lobbying, creation and production of collateral material as well as media relations.
Prior to Stoorza, Ziegaus and Metzger, she was employed as an associate for four years for The Wessell Company and worked on governmental and community relations activities on accounts such as The Walt Disney Development Company, the Sunshine Canyon Landfill, Richland Development Company, and the La Vina Project. She was also responsible for special events planning and management for these clients, such as community open houses and project grand openings.
Julie received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UCLA. She and her husband Ilias, and their menagerie of several felines and a frisky Cocker Spaniel, are Valley Village residents. Julie is a graduate of the Alumni Academy at UCLA and serves on the Alumni Association’s Community College Transfer Student Scholarship Committee, the College Welcome Days Committee and the Distinguished Senior Award Committee.
